Week 9: Twitter

Searches in Twitter

Search: "Oceanside Auto Care"
I used these terms to search for competitors. Interestingly enough, the twitter feeds that were populated did not show much related to auto services in the beginning, however, scrolling further down the list I did find tweets from similar businesses to Fily Willy that were from 2015 and 2017.

This assignment has been beneficial for our marketing.  I realized that we can take advantage of this key word search so that our business can be found. So, I just added a tweet with the above mentioned search terms and as of today, we are listed first!  It will also need to be investigated the use of Spanish in the key word search as Fily Willy Auto Care is a bilingual business.

Search: "Oceanside Towing"
Searching "Oceanside Towing", the listings were for marine towing, not land towing.  I had to adjust the key terms to be more broad, so the terms were changed to "north county towing".  Again, sparsely listed.  This also is an idea to add terms of potential customers from the lists created in Twitter, e.g., motorists that are in need of towing, add a tweet with this key word.

Two Twitter lists created for Fily Willy Auto Care

1) FWAC Clientele Members: 24HourTowing Oceanside; Urgent Towing; Brother Benno's
This list consists of the past, present and future clientele.

These lists are helpful in finding new clientele and to encourage past and present customers to post reviews of our work.  Another great tip I found was to subscribe to others' lists without having to follow them.  This would relieve the clutter and busyness of all the feeds.  (https://www.postplanner.com/how-to-find-twitter-lists-in-niche-industry/)

2)  Auto Parts Distributors:  AutoZone and O'Reilly Auto Parts
This list consists of the auto parts distributors Fily Willy Auto Care works with.

Establishing lists on Twitter is important to stay relevant and up to date and most importantly, organized.  Also, it will help when creating a more comprehensive marketing strategy that align with the business goals.  I like the idea of creating an additional list of competitors to see what they are up to.  The suggestion to keep it a private list also gives an advantage so that we don't have to necessarily follow them.

Timing Twitter Tweets

Timing tweets is very important.  The free Twitter analytics tool and Hootsuite will be most helpful.  Unfortunately, our account is newly created and does not have the necessary volume to make strategic decisions as of yet.  It is useful, however, to peruse over the data available and see what tweets are engaging customers and how many impressions there are. Tweeting at various times of the day, then going back to analyze and review what engaged the customers will be invaluable.  Additionally, fine tuning the tweet verbiage and being selective with pictures are important factors when sending out into the social media world.

I bookmarked a very helpful online article that discusses this topic and will reference often: https://adespresso.com/blog/best-time-to-tweet/.  The takeaway from this article, "Knowing the best time to tweet is powerful knowledge. It allows you to work smarter by focusing your efforts on a few quality posts strategically scattered throughout the day, rather than just going for sheer volume."
